Starship's Fourth Test Flight Aims to Showcase Upper-Stage Spacecraft and Super Heavy Booster

Federal Aviation Administration Approves Commercial Launch License

Starship, the gargantuan rocket under development by Elon Musk's SpaceX, is scheduled to launch on Thursday morning. The test flight, which will take place from Boca Chica beach in Brownsville, Texas, is the fourth for Starship and is aimed at demonstrating the capabilities of both the upper-stage spacecraft and the rocket's first-stage booster, known as Super Heavy.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved the commercial launch license for the test flight. SpaceX has previously conducted three test flights of Starship, with the last one taking place in May 2023. The previous test flights were successful in demonstrating the rocket's ability to launch, reach orbit, and land back on Earth.

The upcoming test flight is expected to be the most ambitious yet for Starship. SpaceX plans to load the rocket with a full load of propellant and attempt to launch it into orbit. If successful, it would be a major milestone for SpaceX and could pave the way for the company to begin using Starship for commercial launches.
