Tank Davis Stripped of Title After Missing Weight

LAS VEGAS, Nevada - Gervonta "Tank" Davis has been stripped of his WBA lightweight title after missing weight for his scheduled title defense against Rolando "Rolly" Romero on Saturday night.
Davis weighed in at 136.4 pounds on Friday, 0.4 pounds over the lightweight limit of 136 pounds. The WBA has since stripped Davis of his title and the fight will now be for the vacant WBA lightweight championship.
This is the first time that Davis has missed weight in his career. The 28-year-old American is now 29-0 with 26 knockouts. Romero, who weighed in at 135.8 pounds, is now 14-1 with 12 knockouts.
The fight is scheduled to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event will be broadcast on Showtime.
