England Thrash Iran 6-2 in World Cup Opener

Bellingham, Saka Star as Three Lions Roar

England made a stunning start to their FIFA World Cup campaign with a dominant 6-2 victory over Iran in their Group B opener. Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka, Raheem Sterling, and substitutes Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish all found the net as Gareth Southgate's side put on a clinical attacking display.

Iran pulled two goals back through Mehdi Taremi and Sardar Azmoun, but it was a mere consolation as England strolled to a comfortable victory.

The Three Lions dominated possession throughout the match and created numerous chances, with Saka particularly impressive on the right flank. The Arsenal winger opened the scoring in the 35th minute with a cool finish, and he added another just before half-time with a close-range header.

Bellingham scored a superb third goal early in the second half, driving into the box and unleashing a powerful shot that flew into the top corner. Sterling made it 4-0 with a simple tap-in, and Rashford and Grealish completed the rout late on.

The result leaves England top of Group B after the first round of matches. They will face USA next on Friday, while Iran will take on Wales.
