Manchester City wins the Manchester derby

City came from behind to beat Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford.

Phil Foden and Erling Haaland scored the goals for City, who were second best for much of the first half but dominated the second period. Jadon Sancho had given United the lead early on, but City were level before half-time thanks to Foden's goal. Haaland then struck the winner just after the hour mark to give City all three points.

The result means City move top of the Premier League table, while United stay in sixth place. It was a disappointing day for United, who were hoping to build on their recent good form. They started the game well and took the lead through Sancho, but they were unable to maintain their intensity and City took control in the second half.

City were much improved after the break and they deserved to win the game. They were more patient in possession and they created a number of chances. Foden and Haaland both took their goals well and City could have won by a bigger margin.

The win was a big boost for City, who are now in a strong position to win the Premier League title. They have a five-point lead over Arsenal and they have a game in hand. United, meanwhile, will be disappointed with the result, but they will need to bounce back quickly as they have a big game against Arsenal next weekend.
