Bayer Leverkusen's Unbeaten Streak Continues with 2-2 Draw Against VfB Stuttgart

Leverkusen Stays in the Hunt for DFB Cup Glory, Extends Unbeaten Run

Andrich's Last-Minute Equalizer Secures a Point for the Hosts

Bayer 04 Leverkusen's incredible run of form continued on Tuesday as they played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with VfB Stuttgart in the quarterfinals of the DFB Cup. Despite conceding first, the Werkself rallied back to earn a hard-fought point, extending their unbeaten streak to 12 matches in all competitions.

Waldemar Anton put Stuttgart ahead in the 11th minute, taking advantage of some slack defending from the Leverkusen backline. However, Robert Andrich equalized with a powerful left-footed shot from the edge of the area on the stroke of half-time.

Chris FĂ¼hrich restored Stuttgart's lead in the 58th minute, but once again, Leverkusen refused to be beaten. In the dying seconds of the game, Andrich popped up with a dramatic header to salvage a draw and send the match to extra time.

Despite both teams creating chances in extra time, neither could find a winning goal, and the match ultimately ended in a penalty shootout. Leverkusen goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky proved to be the hero, saving two Stuttgart spot-kicks to secure a 3-2 penalty shootout victory and a place in the semifinals.

The result keeps Leverkusen's DFB Cup hopes alive and maintains their impressive unbeaten run. They will now face either Eintracht Frankfurt or Darmstadt 98 in the semifinals, with a chance to reach the final and secure a place in next season's UEFA Europa League.
