WEB Equipped F-16C Aircraft

Versatile Fighter Jets for Anti-Radiation Warfare

AGM-88 HARM and AGM-45 Shrike Missiles

Certain F-16C aircraft, notably the F-16CJ and F-16CJ Block 50 variants, are equipped with the Weapons Employment Bay (WEB), a specialized system that allows them to launch both the AGM-88 High-speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM) and the AGM-45 Shrike anti-radiation missiles.

These advanced missiles are designed to target enemy radar systems, making them crucial for suppressing air defenses and supporting close air support operations.

Notable Missions of WEB-Equipped F-16C

One notable example is the 20th Fighter Wing from Shaw AFB, South Carolina, which operates F-16CJs equipped with a mix of air-to-air missiles, anti-radiation missiles, and external fuel tanks.

Another notable aircraft is an F-16CJ Block 50, equipped to launch the HARM, which was showcased in a circa-1991 demonstration.

Additionally, F-16CJ Block 50D aircraft from USAFE's 52nd FW are specifically designated as Wild Weasels and equipped with wingtip AIM-120 AMRAAM and AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles for specialized anti-radiation warfare roles.

Current Operations

The 480th Fighter Squadron (FS), nicknamed the Warhawks, is an active United States Air Force unit that operates the General Dynamics F-16CJ Fighting Falcon aircraft.
